"Axiom's first show was in late december 1996. The original line-up was Mike vox, Kevin vox, Joel drums, Matt bass, Alex guits, and Ben guits. In 1998 the Establishing a Culture of Resistance was released on Gasmask/Catchphraze records. The original vocalist Mike left the band before it toured the west coast in 1998 with new vocalist Brian who left later that year. In 1999 the Impaled by Chaos E.P. was released and the band toured the U.S. on a campaign to end Sanctions in Iraq. This tour collaborated in some cities with the Primate Freedom Tour. In 2000 the Apathy and Privilege 12" was released. Matt the original bass player left the band and was replaced by Kelly (ex-Defiance, Detestation, etc.). The final shows of the band occurred on a west coast tour with Wolfpack in 2000. At the end of the tour, the vocalist was caught stealing the band fund, so they tracked a full lp with no vocals that has yet to be released...Bands that co-existed with or came after Axiom and contained its members include: Hellshock, Atrocious Madness, Indignity, Time Mosh, Altruist, War Machine, Elder Wrath, We Should Die, Plebian Retribution, Narlathotep, and Resistant Culture to name a few. - Ben Axiom (01/2006)"
Taken from their myspace. One of my most favorite punk/crust/metal bands. They're from California, and actually stand up for shit. They are definitely not all talk! I really think more bands like this need to exist. Especially in the punk community where so much is supposedly based on politics, but no one does shit for shit. Who in the fuck says you can't have a passion for both music AND politics? Idiots.
Apathy and Privilege.

Obviously this is an all Cleveland post. I guess ill go in order according to the pictures. First we have Masakari's Eden Compromised. This is their first release, and was done by Halo Of Flies records (Protestant, Fall of Efrafa). Very melodic hardcore/crust, but also with some japanese-esque riffing and low vocals. Basically a From Ashes Rise/Tragedy worship type band. Their second release, The Prophet feeds... is due out this month with artwork by Sugi.
Second we have Nun Slaughter. This is not only one of my favorite metal bands, but easily one of my favorite records. I mean, come on, it's a fucking upside-down cross! Nun Slaughter has been around since the late 80's and is still going strong. Brutal satanic death metal.
Last we have another great, legendary Cleveland band. 9 Shocks Terror. Getting their name from a Lip Cream album, 9 Shocks plays awesome hardcore punk. This is a record at the top of my favorites not only because they are a great band, but this version of their self-titled 7inch is a test pressing (final release has a picture of someone with a bag on their head). If you've never heard of this band (especially living in northeast Ohio) you should probably kill yourself.
Sorry no 9 shocks or Nun Slaughter. Buy the fucking record.

Somewhere in my top 3 favorite bands, is Dystopia. I really don't have a favorite band of all time cause it's really too hard to choose. They formed in 1991 in orange county, and haved actually only released two full length albums. With the drummer also doing vocals they're some of the most brutal shit ever. Their style is kind of hard to explain but its somewhere between punk/grind/sludge. The lyrical content is also some of the best shit written, in my opinion. Subject matters include: self-loathing, animal rights, race equality, suicide, and drugs. I believe one of the members also owns Life Is Abuse records, but i am not completely sure on that. If you like some depressing, evil sounding shit, you'll dig it.

For this first post, i decided to Grimple. Not only is it great, nasty, hardcore punk; but it is one of the first 7 inch records i've ever owned. To this day it remains in probably my top 5 favorite E.P.'s. I probably play this record at least twice a week. They're lyrics are also great in my opinion. One of the songs even seems to be about being way too stoned, hence the bowl jeanie and pot leaves on the inside.
